Elderberries | Syrup Kit


100 g European (Sambucus nigra)


Bag includes enough berries & instructions to make approx. 24 oz syrup.
• You will need honey, brown rice syrup or glycerin • 

Potent anti-viral, strongly indicated for flu viruses.

Elderberry inhibits viral replication.

  • Directions

    100g (approx 1 cup) dried elderberry (this entire pre-weighed bag)
    1 quart cold distilled water
    1 ½ cup local honey, glycerin or brown rice syrup


    Combine elderberries and water in a large sauce pot. Allow the berries to soak for one hour. Place over medium heat and gradually bring to a boil. Once a rolling boil has been reached, stir frequently and continue to boil gently until liquid has been reduced by half, approximately 15-20 minutes. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.

    Strain the concentrated extract through cheese cloth or clean cotton dish towel, placed in a colander over a pot. Measure the liquid. It will be roughly 2 cups.

    Combine your extract with your sweetener of choice and bring back to a gentle boil for 10 minutes. Allow to cool slightly and pour into sterilized glass bottle(s). 

    Label with date it was made and ingredients.

  • Suggested Dosing Guide

    Dose: 2 Tbsp per 150 pounds
    Frequency: As a preventative - daily  | As a treatment -  every 2 - 4 hours
    Limits: No more than 8 servings per day.
    Duration: continue to use for 2-3 days after symptoms resolve.
    Age: 6 month+ (1 year+ if honey is used)
